ACHIEVING SUCCESS IN ACADEMICS
SUCCESS! SUCCESS! SUCCESS!
Writing JAMB, JUPEB, IJMB, UNIVERSITY EXAMS has always been a problem.
You are the type that wants to succeed in everything you do that relates to academics. A lot of students do not know how or what it takes to be a successful student, they know the difference between being an average student and being an excellent student but being a successful student is more than just knowing.
To be a successful student, you need to have good study habits, you need to be serious with your education. You need to be focused, committed, and dedicated to your studies.
A lot of students know how to study well but they do not know how they can improve on their grades that is why I stated commitment above. Committed students are more successful than less-committed students.
It’s not too late to get the grades you desire, you don’t need to be on a spot for too long.
Successful students have good habits that do not involve procrastination. To be a successful student, you need to learn to improve on yourself, stay true to good habits. Let people know if you need help, talk to your counsellors in school, your parent, your teachers, or your siblings. Look for a way to get out of that position.
However, the situation happening in your life doesn’t mean you should term yourself a failure, you can succeed in your academics. Academics can be challenging; it can be overwhelming and there are a lot of things you can do to succeed with your academics.
There are a lot of things you will need to let go if you truly want success; you will need to be able to balance your social life with your academics, stay away from certain extracurricular activities. Your classes might be demanding but look for a balance to everything you are doing.
Aim for the best at all times, stay away from comparison. Find your own strength and know how to utilize it. Rather than chasing perfection, choose to be focused and success will come in all areas.
It is only through knowing your strength that you can work on the weaknesses that come at you and this can help you overcome every obstacle and challenges.
Be disciplined; I can’t overstate this fact that a student that wants to succeed needs to be disciplined with himself. Be disciplined well enough to study at least daily, even if it’s to dedicate 2 or 3 hours to study, do it.
Be persistent, be positive, be dogged with your school activities; assignments, tests, group works, exams attending classes, no matter what happens, do not give up on yourself. Success is near if you put in extra effort into your academics.
Manage your time well, so many things would come up as distractions and if you are not a good time manager, you won’t know how to avoid them.
To succeed in your academics, you need to push and do more.
