JOINT UNIVERSITIES PRELIMINARY EXAMINATIONS BOARD
JUPEB is an A level programme that is accepted and recognized and it is moderated by the University of Lagos and it has various coordinating bodies in several tertiary institutions and study centres in Nigeria.
JUPEB is only for candidates with O’level results or awaiting results who are unable to secure direct admission using JAMB to Nigerian Universities.
With JUPEB, you can gain admission into the university without JAMB.
The federal government however approves JUPEB as an avenue to secure admission into a tertiary institution in Nigeria and it is certified by the Nigerian University Commission as an A level programme.
JAMB also, recognizes JUPEB program and recognizes it as an alternative for university admission.

How JUPEB Works
Prospective candidates for JUPEB are expected to select any three JUPEB subject combination that is synonymous with their preferred course in the university either Science, Art or Social Science courses. Every candidate would be lectured for a specific period of time and would afterwards sit for their final examination in accredited centres and the certificate from JUPEB can be utilized to secure admission via direct entry into 200 level in any Nigerian tertiary institution.
